Okie dokie.

I honestly never dreamed someone would actually take a yo momma joke seriously. I appologize Tie, if I have in any way damaged your mother's reputation.

its a firefox setting, under tools/options. just un-check it.

well that was back in the days before MADD, when people didnt make a big deal about drinking and driving. i doubt that would ever happen now-a-days unless maybe you're related to the cop who catches you.

Yes it would. That's why this law fails so hard. While drivers under 21 may get into more accidents while intoxicated per capita, they are vastly outnumbered by drivers over 21 and so, though I've seen no stats to say so, I would not be at all surprised if the actual number of incidents from each group was roughly the same,

In order to 'avoid this kind of stuff' the law should take a zero tolerance stance to any driver having alcohol in their system, regardless of age, and an infraction should result in the complete loss of licence and prohibition from resitting the test for at least twelve months.

As it stands the law is more about pandering to voters than it is road safety.

Ok, perhaps 'fail' was a bit harsh. I have a penchant for the dramatic at times, sorry.

It's a faltering half-step in the right direction.

Increased laws against drinking and driving are bad for the restaurant industry. Might seem trivial, but they are an important aspect of local economies and people may decide to stay home if they can't have a pint or a glass of wine with dinner, or after work, or while watching the game.

people love to socialize for the most part, the restaurants and bars have survived the smoking ban and will get by this as well. It could very well end up being a boon for the taxi industry

If you're going out to spend 60-100 bucks having a few pints and some munchies another 20 for a cab is not a bad thing

It's funny, I know more people under 21 who have been hit with DUI's then those over. Admittedly I have driven after drinking, but not excessively either plus I tend to be cautious if I have had a couple of drinks, focusing on control of my car and the speed I am driving so as not to get pulled over. Still, I find it weird that they want to discriminate against young drivers for it. I am all for zero tolerance to a point, discriminating is bullshit and it should be everyone gets targeted or no one.

I went to school with a guy who is only 19 and lost his license after getting two DUI's, the second while going 60 km over the speed limit. I mean, he is a prime example of someone who is a fucking retard that does not deserve to drive ever again and if I were the cops I would ban him from driving for 10 years to teach his punk ass a lesson. Like I said, I will admit to having driven after drinking but I am not stupid enough to go out and get trashed then pretty much ask to get pulled over by speeding and driving dangerously. Thankfully some of us young drivers have brains though, I have never been pulled over for anything because I use my head and don't act like I am the only person on the road, which a lot of young drivers tend to do. Almost at 24 and I have a perfect driving record, someone that can't be said for a lot of people in the 18-24 age bracket.

Cheaper to take a bus, try living in the south end of Guelph and trying to get home from the bar, unless you have about 3 people with you it winds up costing a fair bit, last time I took a taxi home after drinking downtown I walked half way before calling the cab and it cost me 20 bucks, had I gone straight from the bar it probably would have cost 35. But then again Guelph transit is fucking lazy and doesn't run past 12:45 even on a Friday when school is in, or New Years Eve for that matter. I mean come on, people whine about drinking and driving but you could drastically reduce that by running a bus every 45 minutes on most major routes in any well developed city on nights when people are most likely to be at the bars which are generally Friday and Saturday nights.

At least you did not have the kind of drivers trainers we have today? I had a great driving instructor, so did my brother (same guy even) and he knows his stuff, taught me how to drive manual like a pro in an hour and a half. I see the student drivers today and good god they are terrible, they teach them to drive far too passively. The driving schools and teachers are bad, that is why so many young people are terrible drivers, either they think the road is a race track or they drive like paranoid turtles who think that the cars around them are going to intentionally knock them off the road.
